Illustration Friday: Poof!

Cooking Class
Thought I'd test out some shading techniques in Illustrator. It's difficult to make everything look smooth and believable. I just get hungry too!
Fancy Pup Photo Shoot
Perusing ffffound, I discovered this pup pattern.
Putting scruffy together was much harder than it looked, and I admit it looks like he might have rabies. We still had fun taking pictures.

Good trends never die
How about some seriously old, 400+ year old wallpaper?
Okay, the Jacobean paper isn't ancient, but the linocut, by Whyndham Payne Esq.,
was created in the 17th-ish Century. Check it out at the very end of the existing collection at
the Museum of London.
Funny how it looks quite a lot like this.

Prouve yourself
Talk about some serious angles and industrial design. Prouve's creations are utilitarian and practical, but aesthetically compelling. I certainly wouldn't mind owning one of his dining room tables...or possessing a fraction of his talent.
The home Prouve designed and built in just a few weeks, with some of his own prefab designs, after selling his factory.
The following are a series of chairs presented by Vitra. The weird cloud light and cardboard chair + ottoman are designed by Frank Gehry.
Finally, to celebrate his tenth year as a young London fashion icon, Matthew Williamson's collection from the past decade.

Fit to print
Gail Brodholt
Serigraphy, lithography, linocuts and just about everything screen-printable are part of an exhibit at
OXO Tower until late January. A short walk from Blackfriar's tube stop and down the Thames leads to a
community of artists and galleries (with enviable views of the city). Grab a coffee, and take a look at some master screen-printers from around G.B. Oh, and bring a notebook. You'll want to remember these guys.

It's January 5th, which means your resolution diet is already on the fritz. If you're going to indulge,
enjoy something that can't be found at the Russell Stover Outlet next to the XXX Superstore off I-70.
Kansas City-based chocordinaire Christopher Elbow creates sweet delights
worthy of a picture frame, or at least a second look.
Try:
Strawberry Balsamic Caramel
Russian Tea
Venezualan Spice
